Doomberg - Oil, Natural Gas, Middle East, and Strait of Hormuz

Man, talk about timing—I had Duneberg back on the podcast, and right after I wrapped my weekend show, news broke about missile strikes in Iran. Could've used that info earlier, right? Anyway, we dove deep into the whole Israel-Iran showdown and the craziness around the Strait of Hormuz. Did you know two-thirds of Middle Eastern oil goes through that tiny choke point? Yeah, if that thing shuts down, it’s lights out—total catastrophe.

Duneberg sees this whole thing as kind of theatrical; the markets are basically yawning. Oil prices actually dipped even after the strikes—who saw that coming? But things could heat up fast, especially with Europe's energy nightmare. They import almost all their oil, so if supply routes get messy, they're in a "hurt locker," as he put it.

Oh, and California—man, they're one accident away from an energy meltdown, running out refineries and setting themselves up for a crisis. And forget Tesla; the Chinese are about to eat everyone's lunch with EVs. Bottom line: keep an eye on that WTI-Brent spread. That's the early-warning system for serious trouble. Buckle up, folks—it’s getting real interesting out there.
